24 Killed, 20 Injured as Passenger Bus Plunges into Ravine in Balochistan’s Zhob

ZHOB, Pakistan: At least 24 people were killed and 20 others injured after a passenger bus travelling from Quetta to Peshawar plunged into a ravine in the Danasar area of Zhob district, Balochistan, on Friday.

According to police, the bus met with the accident after its brakes reportedly failed, causing the driver to lose control before the vehicle veered off the road and fell into a deep gorge.

Officials said the deceased and injured included women and children. Rescue teams rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Zhob for medical treatment.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, while rescue and relief operations were completed at the accident site.

Road accidents involving passenger buses remain a recurring concern in Pakistan, often attributed to mechanical failures, difficult mountainous terrain, and traffic safety challenges.
