ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security forces have killed five more militants during the latest operations under Operation Shaaban in Balochistan, bringing the total number of militants eliminated in the ongoing campaign to 76, according to security sources.
Security officials said the joint operation, involving the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan and police, is continuing across the province to eliminate militant networks. They added that since July 5, a total of 114 militants have been killed in various counterterrorism operations.
According to the sources, Operation Shaaban will continue until the last militant involved in terrorist activities in Balochistan is neutralized.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the security forces for the successful operation and paid tribute to their professionalism and commitment. Congratulating the forces on the latest operation, he reaffirmed that the campaign against militant groups would continue until they are completely eradicated.
The interior minister praised the operational capabilities of the security forces, stating that those responsible for undermining peace in Balochistan were being brought to justice. He added that the entire nation stands firmly behind the country’s security institutions, describing them as highly alert, professional and fully committed to restoring lasting peace in the province.
