Rawalpindi – Pakistani security forces killed nine terrorists described by the military as Indian-sponsored during separate operations in the Kachhi and Wadh areas of Balochistan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to the military’s media wing, security forces destroyed a terrorist hideout in Kachhi district, where seven terrorists were killed during an exchange of fire. In a separate operation in Wadh, security forces killed two more terrorists.
The ISPR said that weapons and ammunition were also recovered during the operations, and that sanitisation and clearance operations are under way to eliminate any other terrorists present in the area.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for the successful operations, stating that the fight against terrorism would continue until the menace is completely eradicated from the country. He said the efforts of the security forces towards eliminating terrorism and establishing lasting peace were commendable, adding that terrorists would never succeed in their nefarious designs and that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the security forces in the campaign against terrorism.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also commended the security forces for the operations, describing their successes against Indian-sponsored terrorists as praiseworthy. He said the nation stands firmly with the security forces in rooting out terrorism, and that terrorists of “Fitna al-Hindustan” and their facilitators would find no place to hide.
“Fitna al-Hindustan” is the designation used by the Government of Pakistan for militant groups operating in Balochistan that it accuses of receiving Indian backing.
