Ericsson CEO Börje Ekholm to Step Down, Per Narvinger Named Successor

STOCKHOLM: Swedish telecommunications giant Ericsson announced on Monday that its President and Chief Executive Officer, Börje Ekholm, will step down from his position on September 30, marking the end of his tenure at the helm of the company.

According to a company press release, Per Narvinger has been appointed as the new President and CEO and will succeed Ekholm following the leadership transition.

To ensure continuity and a smooth handover, Ekholm will remain with the company as a senior advisor to Narvinger until June 15 of the following year.

Ericsson said the transition is part of its long-term leadership planning and expressed confidence in Narvinger’s ability to lead the company through its next phase of growth and innovation in the global telecommunications sector.

The leadership change comes at a time when Ericsson continues to play a key role in the development of 5G infrastructure and advanced telecommunications technologies worldwide.
