Pakistan Supports Peaceful Resolution of Long-Standing Disputes: Ishaq Dar

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar has reiterated Pakistan’s strong commitment to the peaceful resolution of long-standing international disputes, stating that the country firmly supports dialogue and diplomacy in line with the United Nations Charter.

Addressing a debate at the United Nations Security Council on the restoration of international peace and security, Ishaq Dar expressed gratitude to China’s Foreign Minister for convening the important session, noting that its timing was particularly relevant given current global challenges.

He said the UN Charter provides a comprehensive framework for relations among states and enshrines key principles of equality and self-determination for peoples around the world.

“The holding of this session was a necessity in the present circumstances,” the deputy prime minister said, emphasizing the importance of multilateral engagement in addressing global conflicts.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s foreign policy stance, Dar stated that the country remains committed to the principles and objectives of the United Nations and continues to advocate for the peaceful settlement of long-standing disputes through constructive and diplomatic means.

He added that Pakistan supports all efforts aimed at maintaining international peace and stability in accordance with the UN Charter.
