Jeremy Clarkson Announces Prostate Cancer Is in Remission, Urges Men to Get Tested

LONDON – British television presenter and journalist Jeremy Clarkson has revealed that his “aggressive” prostate cancer is now in remission, nearly a year after he was diagnosed with the disease. The 66-year-old shared the update in an interview with The Times, saying recent medical tests showed no sign of cancer.

Clarkson said a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test conducted two months ago confirmed that he was cancer-free. The diagnosis, which was featured in the latest season of his television series “Clarkson’s Farm,” was discovered at an early stage, significantly improving his chances of successful treatment.

Reflecting on his experience, Clarkson described the diagnosis as more emotionally difficult than he had expected and strongly encouraged men to undergo routine health screenings. He emphasized that early detection played a crucial role in his recovery and urged others not to delay medical checks.

The presenter also revealed that he suffered complications during his recovery after resuming blood-thinning medication prescribed for previous heart and vascular conditions. He said the decision led to a medical emergency and required additional treatment.

Clarkson underwent a heart procedure in 2024 during which doctors inserted two stents to improve blood flow. He has since made several lifestyle changes, including quitting smoking after a bout of pneumonia. Describing himself as “the world’s luckiest man,” Clarkson credited doctors for identifying the cancer early and ensuring prompt treatment.

His announcement has renewed attention on prostate cancer awareness and the importance of regular screening, with Clarkson joining a growing number of public figures who have spoken openly about their diagnoses to encourage early detection and treatment.
