PM Shehbaz Sharif Meets U.S. Vice President JD Vance in Switzerland Ahead of Iran–U.S. Talks

OBBUERGEN – Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with U.S. Vice President JD Vance in Switzerland on Sunday as diplomatic efforts intensified ahead of the second phase of Iran–U.S. negotiations.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir also met with the U.S. vice president during the visit. Senior American figures Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff were present during the discussions.

The meeting took place as delegations from Pakistan, Iran, and the United States gathered in Switzerland for a new round of talks aimed at advancing ongoing ceasefire and diplomatic negotiations between Tehran and Washington.

According to reports, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir are scheduled to participate in technical-level negotiations in Switzerland, where key diplomatic and security issues are expected to be discussed.

The latest round of talks is being closely watched by the international community amid efforts to maintain regional stability and seek progress on broader issues involving Iran and the United States.
