Starmer Faces Final PMQs as Andy Burnham Prepares to Take Over UK Leadership

LONDON: British Prime Minister Keir Starmer faced his final Prime Minister’s Questions (PMQs) on Wednesday as preparations accelerated for a leadership transition that is expected to see Andy Burnham become the next leader of the Labour Party and Prime Minister.

Before appearing in the House of Commons, Starmer chaired his final Cabinet meeting, with Labour expected to complete the leadership handover in the coming days. Burnham, currently the sole candidate for the party leadership, is expected to announce a new Cabinet after formally taking office next week.

Meanwhile, Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch continued to challenge the government over its handling of key domestic and economic issues, while Reform UK also sought to capitalize on the changing political landscape by outlining its policy priorities ahead of future elections.
