UK Police Submit Case Against Suspended Labour MP Dan Norris to CPS for Charging Decision

LONDON: Police investigating suspended Labour MP Dan Norris have submitted a file of evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) for a charging decision over multiple allegations of serious sexual offences, marking a significant development in the high-profile case.

According to Avon and Somerset Police, the case has been referred to the CPS following an extensive investigation by the force’s rape and serious sexual offences team. The CPS will now determine whether there is sufficient evidence to bring criminal charges against the MP for North East Somerset and Hanham.

Norris faces allegations of raping three women, sexually assaulting a fourth woman, and committing voyeurism and upskirting offences involving a number of women. The alleged offences are said to have occurred between 2000 and the 2020s. Police said the alleged victims have been informed of the latest development and will continue to receive appropriate support throughout the legal process.

The Labour Party suspended Norris immediately after his arrest in April 2025. In a statement, the party described the allegations as “appalling” and said anyone found guilty of such offences should face the full force of the law, adding that it would not comment further while legal proceedings remain ongoing.

Norris has consistently denied all allegations. In a previous statement, he said he “vigorously and entirely” denies the accusations, describing them as untrue and stating that he is contesting them through his legal representatives. No charges have been filed at this stage, and the decision now rests with the Crown Prosecution Service.
