LONDON: King Charles III met members of the Pakistan cricket team and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi at Clarence House, the historic London residence of the British royal family.
During the meeting, the British monarch interacted with the Pakistani players and team officials, with Mohsin Naqvi also attending the engagement.
King Charles discussed cricket as well as Pakistan’s efforts to combat terrorism and maintain peace and security in the country with the PCB chairman.
The British High Commissioner, speaking during the occasion, highlighted Pakistan’s and Mohsin Naqvi’s contribution to promoting peace and stability in the region.
Speaking to Geo News following the meeting, Naqvi described his interaction with King Charles as highly constructive. He said the monarch encouraged the Pakistani players and appreciated efforts aimed at promoting peace.
Following the meeting, Naqvi, who also serves as Pakistan’s Interior Minister, departed the United Kingdom for Pakistan.
The meeting provided an opportunity to highlight Pakistan’s cricketing ties with the United Kingdom while also underscoring broader areas of engagement between the two countries.
