London: British television presenter Jeremy Clarkson has revealed that he has been diagnosed with cancer, sharing the news in the latest episodes of his farming documentary series.
The disclosure appears in the final episodes of the fifth season of Clarkson’s Farm, released on Amazon Prime Video, which follows Clarkson’s experiences managing his agricultural estate in Oxfordshire.
Clarkson, 66, told viewers he had known about the diagnosis since May and described the condition as “aggressive” but detected at a “very early stage.” He is also shown informing co-stars Charlie Ireland and Kaleb Cooper during filming.
The former Top Gear host said the episodes would be emotionally difficult to watch, adding that he had undergone treatment which “went awry,” and acknowledging uncertainty about his recovery.
At one point in the programme, Clarkson reflects on his condition while in hospital, stating he does not know what the future holds and suggesting that his participation in a potential future season would depend on the success of his treatment.
Clarkson’s Farm, which documents rural life and farming challenges, is one of the platform’s most popular documentary series and is produced by Clarkson’s Farm.
