Evian-les-Bains: U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday described a proposed agreement aimed at ending the U.S. war with Iran as a potential breakthrough for global security, as he began his visit to the G7 summit of leading industrialized nations in France.

Speaking at the start of the summit in Evian-les-Bains, Trump said the emerging deal could mark a turning point in relations with Iran and help stabilize energy markets and global economic conditions. He emphasized that the United States was “turning the page” with a long-time adversary while signaling optimism about developments in the Middle East.

“I think a lot of great things are going to happen in the Middle East right now,” Trump said during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, noting that oil prices were declining and stock markets were rising.

The agreement, which is expected to be formally signed later this week, reportedly includes provisions still under negotiation over the next 60 days. A memorandum of understanding is expected to be released after signing, though officials have not yet disclosed its full contents.

Trump said the deal represents a major diplomatic achievement that could reshape regional stability. He added that improved market confidence reflected optimism surrounding the potential agreement.
