Türkiye, Pakistan to Assess Saudi Arabia’s Military Requirements, Fidan Says

ANKARA: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has said that Türkiye and Pakistan will assess Saudi Arabia’s military requirements under the Makkah Agreement amid ongoing attacks by Yemen’s Houthi movement.

Fidan said Saudi Arabia could face certain military needs as a result of the continuing Houthi attacks, adding that Türkiye would work with Pakistan to assess those requirements under the agreement.

He also said proposals aimed at ending the war in Yemen had been conveyed to all relevant parties, while describing Saudi Arabia’s involvement in the US-Iran conflict as unacceptable.

The Turkish foreign minister said the crisis in the Middle East had become economically unsustainable and stressed the need for efforts to address the continuing regional tensions.

Fidan further said Türkiye had presented an offer to Russia and Ukraine to help end hostilities in the Black Sea, as part of efforts to reduce tensions and support diplomatic initiatives.
