Ukraine Intensifies Long-Range Strikes on Russian Infrastructure, Targets Gas Plant and Satellite Centers

KYIV — Ukraine has intensified its long-range military campaign against Russia, launching overnight strikes on key energy and communications facilities, including a major natural gas processing plant and satellite communications centers, Ukrainian military officials said on Wednesday.

According to Ukraine’s General Staff, the attacks targeted the Orenburg Gas Processing Plant—one of Russia’s largest gas-processing facilities—as well as two satellite communications centers located near Moscow and in the Vladimir region. Ukrainian authorities described the strikes as part of a broader strategy aimed at weakening Russia’s military and logistical capabilities.

The latest operations come amid an intensified Ukrainian campaign against Russian-controlled Crimea and other strategic infrastructure. Ukrainian forces have recently targeted power facilities, oil depots, transport routes and military assets in Crimea in an effort to disrupt Russian supply lines and increase pressure on Moscow.

Russian authorities have reported disruptions to energy and transportation networks in several regions, while air defense systems have been reinforced around key strategic locations, including Moscow and the Kerch Bridge linking Crimea to mainland Russia.

The escalation in cross-border strikes has occurred alongside continued exchanges of drone and missile attacks by both sides, resulting in civilian casualties and infrastructure damage. International efforts to secure a ceasefire have yet to yield a breakthrough, with fighting continuing across multiple fronts.

Military analysts say Ukraine’s growing use of long-range drones and precision strikes reflects a strategy of targeting critical Russian infrastructure far from the battlefield, while Moscow continues to press its military operations inside Ukraine.
