Pakistan Opposes Use of Weapons by Any Country, Reaffirms Commitment to Peace: Foreign Office

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reiterated its principled opposition to the use of weapons by any country, emphasizing its commitment to peaceful conflict resolution, diplomacy and adherence to international law, the Foreign Office said on Wednesday.

Responding to media queries during the weekly press briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said Pakistan consistently advocates dialogue and diplomacy as the only viable means of resolving disputes. He stressed that Islamabad does not support the use of force and believes all differences should be settled through peaceful negotiations in accordance with the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter.

The spokesperson reaffirmed Pakistan’s longstanding position in favour of regional and international peace, calling on all parties involved in conflicts to exercise restraint and avoid actions that could further escalate tensions or undermine global stability. He underscored the importance of respecting international law and promoting constructive engagement to address security challenges.

The Foreign Office reiterated that Pakistan will continue to work with the international community in support of dialogue, de-escalation and diplomatic initiatives aimed at fostering lasting peace and stability in the region and beyond.
