Pakistan Shoots Down Four Afghan Drones After Cross-Border Airspace Violations

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s armed forces have shot down four drones that crossed into the country’s airspace from Afghanistan in the southwestern province of Balochistan, according to the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ISPR said Pakistan’s air defence network was immediately activated following the cross-border drone incursions, enabling security forces to successfully intercept and destroy all four unmanned aerial vehicles.

The military accused the Afghan Taliban administration of engaging in provocative actions and alleged that such measures were intended to mislead the Afghan public. It warned that Pakistan would respond appropriately to any act of aggression and urged the Afghan authorities to end support for terrorist elements and adhere to the principles of peaceful coexistence.

The ISPR said the armed forces remain on high alert and are fully prepared to defend the country’s territorial integrity. It added that any future cross-border aggression would receive an immediate, decisive and robust response under Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq.

The incident comes amid continued tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, with Islamabad repeatedly expressing concerns over cross-border militancy and security challenges.
