ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to take effective measures to bring Pakistani products in line with international standards and make export growth a cornerstone of the country’s economic development.
He issued the directives while chairing a review meeting in Islamabad on measures to increase Pakistan’s exports and accelerate economic growth. He called for expanding the country’s export base by preparing products from additional sectors for international markets alongside traditional export industries.
Sharif emphasized the need to diversify trade and encourage a wider range of industries to participate in export activities. He also called for particular attention to value addition to improve the competitiveness and market potential of Pakistani products.
Sharif also directed authorities to promote modern technology, research and innovation in export-oriented industries. He said greater use of digitalization and advanced technologies was essential to align Pakistan’s economy with evolving global requirements.
He further instructed officials to remove administrative and business-related obstacles faced by exporters and make export procedures simpler, faster and more transparent.
The government’s focus on diversification, technological modernization and value-added production is aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s presence in international markets while creating a stronger foundation for sustainable economic growth.
