ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said that the experience and guidance of military veterans constitute a valuable institutional asset in addressing the country’s complex security environment.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir hosted a reception in honour of veterans on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day, which was attended by a large number of retired military officers and personnel.
The army chief paid tribute to the services and contributions of veterans toward the defence of the country and acknowledged their role in strengthening national resilience.
Speaking on the occasion, Field Marshal Asim Munir emphasized that the experience and guidance of veterans remained an important institutional resource for effectively dealing with emerging and complex security challenges.
The veterans expressed their confidence in the leadership of the Pakistan Army and reaffirmed their continued support for the armed forces in confronting emerging security challenges.
They also reiterated their commitment to continuing to play their role in promoting national unity, peace and prosperity.
The reception provided an opportunity to acknowledge the longstanding contributions of retired military personnel and their continued role in supporting national interests and security.
