Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar Arrives in UK for Four-Day Official Visit

LONDON — Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has arrived in London for a four-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral engagement with the United Kingdom and advancing discussions on regional and international issues.

According to Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, Dar will remain in the UK until August 28 and is scheduled to meet British Foreign Secretary David Lammy and other senior British government officials.

During his visit, the foreign minister is also expected to meet the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), with discussions likely to focus on the issue of Pakistani crew members held hostage by Somali pirates. Regional maritime security will also feature prominently in the talks.

Dar is further scheduled to meet Commonwealth Secretary-General Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey as part of his official engagements in London.

The visit comes as Pakistan continues to engage with international partners on matters relating to regional security, maritime safety and broader diplomatic cooperation. The meetings are expected to provide an opportunity to discuss areas of mutual interest and strengthen coordination between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

The foreign minister’s engagements with British officials and senior representatives of international organisations are also expected to address issues of regional stability and Pakistan’s interests in international forums.
